Learn Bangla with a tutor
Personal, online Bangla lessons with the teacher behind LearnBangla. Built around your goals, your level and your time zone.
A Bangla tutor from Dhaka
LearnBangla is made by a Bangla teacher in Dhaka who teaches learners from around the world one to one. The free courses on this site grew out of those lessons: the questions students actually ask, the sounds they mix up, and the moments they want to be ready for.
Lessons use the same approach as the courses. You speak from day one with romanised Bangla, learn the script when you're ready, and practise the real, everyday Bangla you will hear in Bangladesh, with culture woven into every lesson.

Lessons are by video call. Between lessons, the free LearnBangla courses give you audio practice for every word, so lesson time goes on speaking.
How to choose a Bangla tutor
- Check which Bangla they teach. Bangladeshi and West Bengal Bangla share grammar but differ in everyday words. Pick the variety of the people you want to talk to.
- Look for teaching experience, not just fluency. Being a native speaker is a start. Knowing how to explain sounds like ত and ট is what helps you improve.
- Ask how they teach the script. A good tutor will let you start speaking right away and bring in reading at a pace that suits you.
- Make sure you get practice between lessons. Audio, homework or a course to follow means you keep improving between calls.

Where do the lessons take place?
Online, by video call, so you can learn from anywhere in the world. Times are arranged around your time zone.
Can lessons follow the free LearnBangla courses?
Yes. Many students do the free audio lessons on their own and use one-to-one time for speaking practice, questions and corrections.
