LearnBangla (learn-bangla-pi.vercel.app) is a website for learning the Bangla language, run by Rafid Tahsin Imam in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: rafidtahsin6@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details. When you create an account we receive your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we also receive your profile picture from that service. You may also choose a country and upload a profile photo.
- Sign-in data. Accounts are handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. If you sign up with email, your password is stored by Firebase in encrypted form; we never see it.
- Learning progress. Your placement answers, course progress, word library and settings (such as light or dark mode) are saved in your own browser on your device. They are not sent to our servers.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, show ads, or share your details with advertisers. When you sign in with Google or Facebook we only read your name, email and profile picture. We never post anything on your behalf.
How we use it
To sign you in, show your name and picture on your dashboard, greet you by your first name in lessons, and answer you if you contact us.
Services we rely on
- Google Firebase: account sign-in (Google, Facebook and email).
- Meta (Facebook): only if you choose “Continue with Facebook”.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Google Fonts: loads the site’s fonts.
Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy.
Children
Our Kids course is meant to be used with a parent or guardian. We don’t knowingly create accounts for children under 13 without a parent’s involvement. If you think a child has signed up without one, email us and we will delete the account.
